Overlap I

Overlap I investigates the effect of colour as a fleeting, constantly changing phenomenon. Two overlapping circle forms enter into a silent dialogue and create a zone of encounter in which form, light and perception flow into one another.
The surface consists of a floating, iridescent colour layer, which changes its appearance depending on viewing angle and incident light. At times it appears almost white and immaterial, then a fine, cool blue emerges that gently lays over the circle forms. The work evades a fixed chromaticity and reveals its effect only in the movement of the viewer as well as in the change of natural light.
The overlap of the two circles becomes a symbol of encounter, transparency and change. Blue Overlap invites the viewer to understand colour not as a static element, but as a living appearance that oscillates between visibility and dissolution.
