Exhibition Statement:

This series uses heirloom tea set vessels inherited from my grandparents as reflective surfaces for still life arrangements of fruit. In each painting, a single fruit rests apart from its group and appears reflected in the polished metal, suggesting the individual as both product and mirror of previous generations.

The pomegranate painting diverges: instead of one reflection, all three fruits appear. This shift proposes that some inheritances are collective rather than individual—identities that cannot be separated from those who came before.

Together, the works explore lineage as something we both step away from and carry with us, asking whether we ever truly exist apart from what formed us.
