Gold on Black combines the powerful impact of deep black acrylic paint with the warm, reflective surface of hand-applied gold leaf or metal leaf.

The large, almost monolithic black field forms a strong contrast to the golden circle. Through the irregular, slightly textured surface of the leaf metal, a lively play of light and reflection emerges—depending on the angle of light, the effect of the gold changes. The black brushstrokes and splatters in the background add dynamism to the work and deliberately contrast with the clear geometric form of the circle.
